Ours do, eaten a lot of the plants as well (yes we do feed them, the fish that is ). We replant and secure, then later on that day one or more will be floating again.

i will get some pictures later today for you, of the whole tank. it needs to grow in and the plants need to recover a bit form shipping. idk it doesnt look as clean as id like.

What a great set of names

Cleaning and getting the tank environment just right can take a bit of careful observation over time. I notice you have some shrimp, but I would also recommend Zebra snails to help keep the algae down in the tank. But it's worth getting them after the tank has been active a while. They are really good Algae eaters. Water changes will of course still be necessary (goes without saying really).
There are plenty of dedicated Aquarium sites out there though to offer good advice and it is worth trawling them for tips and hints on specific Fish.

We have Endlers, Albino Coryanders and Mollies as the fish and the algae eaters are a the Zebra Snails and the little Shrimp. It seems to be the Endlers that pull up and eat the plants the most, but the Mollies like joining in.

i have an oto for algae help, i am planning on getting 2-3 more. they are cute when they school. im fine with snails, but i had a BAD experience with pest snails. are you talking about zebra nerite snails? how fast do they reproduce? im not familiar with them, i have had mystery snails before, and they were fine. i guess im just a little paranoid.

something happened to the shrimp during the rescape, i think i burried them or killed them somehow or there more plants and they are just hiding.

i have had endlers for a 1 1/2 years. i never had problems with them and my plants. thats odd. i do know mollies will eat algae off of plants and rocks from time to time

For me the Mollies may nibble at the plants but our little shoal of Endlers tend to have a proper go at them, so we'll spy quite a few at one time all nibbling at the same plant. Entertaining little things.

According to our local Aquarium Shop, the smaller Shrimp do not like quick or extreme change, and are very temperamental about temperatures. But saying that we thought we'd lost two over winter, but then they just reappeared, must have been hiding in one of the ornaments. So hopefully yours may be doing the same.

Yep Zebra Nerite Snails are the ones. Here's a link to some info.

Seems like some people have more success breeding Zebra Snails than others. Apparently unlike some other Mollusks they do tend to be either Male or Female. Females are apparently larger than the males.

I love the Neons. I'm a Tetra nut.

I can keep a lot of different kinds of freshwater tropicals, but Tetras are by far my favorite!

Second runner up are Rasboras.

If I had the opportunity to have a room totally devoted to tropical fish, most of the space would be occupied by special tanks devoted to Tetras. Each tank, per species.

i like harlequin rasbora alot too, i think im going to get them as shoalers when i set up my 20 Long.

i lost 2 neons, i found the carcass of one, but i cant find the other.

here is a full tank shot. there is something wrong, with the scape, but i cant tell what. i like how simple and serene the first picture looks, but i want it nice and filled in.




the vals are melting a bit, but i think thats just due to shipping, hopefully they will rebound.

I've got to agree with you. I like the look on the initial picture. The new plants seem like micro swords and vallisnerias. I think that it looks a bit toocrowded with the new look. By the way I also like the driftwood.

it is vals and dwarf sag. i am going for a lush heavily planted tank. while i like the simplicity of the first picture, i want this one to be very heavily planted.
