I should clarify. This may not be debilitating, but it's still a disease that should not continue. Hope these kittens have been spayed/neutered.

You shouldn't worry too much
. I don't think they are bred for this and as the article says it is a very rare condition, especially for cats.
I'm not even sure that with this condition the cats conditions would be able to breed!? They certainly shouldn't be let out of the house unattended, imagine if that condition kicked in when the were on the road, not worth thinking about really.
It may be that the condition can skip generations also, I would have to do some reading on that though. Either way, Cats, Dogs and pets that wander in general should be kept from over-breeding.
I'm just glad that they seem to be in a good home and that I am now aware of this condition being possible in other animals.
............ They are both still so brutally cute though!
