Maine coon
Hello! Does anyone have maine coons?
I got two, a male (4 years old) and a female (17 months).
What about their attitudes? Mine are very different:
the male is tender but fearful, the female is very "bad tempered" I hope you understand.. She doesn't want to be touched for example, she doesn't like "snuggles"...
Anyway they are beautiful...

I had a Maine Coon for many years. Milton died about two years ago, and I really miss him. He didn't like to be touched or held, didn't like kids, and didn't like strangers, but he always wanted to be in the same room with me. He was packed full of 'attitude'.

This happens also to me!!!
Where I live, maine coons are not known and when my Mad Max got home, friends and neighbors wanted to see the "monster" (he was already 3 years old and big), but no one could see him! And still now, he hides when some "strangers" is in!

I'm told my Maine Coon, Trinket, is very typical. She is very independent, doesn't like to be held but loves to be petted, scratched behind the ears, etc. and when she has had enough she lets you know. She plays by herself, chasing and throwing her toys around. She is 13 now and had surgery about two months ago for Basal Cell Carcinoma. As long as she is not in pain and enjoying life she will be the queen of the house.

I have a stray that certainly acts enough and looks enough like a Maine Coon that we definitely suspect she has some in her background.
Most uncoordinated cat ever. Only cuddles on her terms, but when she cuddles, she CUDDLES.
And does the adorable Coon "chirp" thing.
She also used to be verrry wary of strangers, but has gotten much more social once we introduced a more outgoing cat into the house.
