Very beautiful!

I must ask:
I have heard that Parrots, Macaws especially, are like having Toddlers? And get very attached to their owners to the point where if the owner has a partner there can be some jealousy. Is this true? or is it just occasional behaviour for some?

Our double yellow head was that way. He preferred my DH. I had to be careful around the parrot if DH was also nearby because the parrot would bite. However, one time DH's brother and wife came to visit us and we had them stay in our trailer and care for the parrot while we were away for a week. One day SIL was sitting out in the yard with the parrot on her shoulder when BIL came out to sit beside her. The parrot bit him very hard. Unfortunately, I had not warned them of the signs of impending bites. And if a parrot's bite is painful, just think of that of a macaw.

Beautiful bird and fantastic picture!!!!! I have a green cheek conjure, but we had to get our own--no one left her with us and refused to take her back She is now 16 years old, but still quite active and lovable. It is great that people rescue parrots--although I must say I am intimidated by large beaks. On the subject of rescues, I contribute to the Oasis Sanctuary, a parrot rescue center. They are a fantastic organization and are currently participating in a shelter challenge. If you could take the time to vote daily for Oasis, they may even come in first! It costs nothing, the link to Oasis is: The Oasis

Thanks for voting!
