I Love Lucy
A while back I lost my sweet Jasmine. I still miss her on a daily basis and I think I always will.
Just a week after losing her, my husband called me from one of his jobs and told me he'd found a kitten in a drain pipe, would I come and get her. (he says he's not a cat person!)
It was too soon, I didn't think I could love another baby after hurting so badly with Jasmine. But I drove over an hour to rescue this little one and how pitiful she was!
She was banged up, near starvation and had a hind leg dragging behind her, couldn't control her bowels or bladder and really didn't seem aware of much of anything.
I immediately took her to the vet. I don't think he held out much hope for her survival and said if she did live, her leg would most likely have to be taken off and he could make no predicitions on her other problems but feared she had brain damage probably from being thrown out of a car.
At 5 weeks of age, someone had thrown her away!!
I didn't post here to introduce her, I didn't think I could stand to and then lose her. But tonight, I proudly present Miss Lucy Anne!!
She has overcome so many obstacles and is now a playful, sweet and extremely loving kitten. AND she walks on four legs!!! She still has a bit of a limp but nothing that impedes her play time.
She is also totally potty trained and has no lingering affects of her ordeal. She's such a blessing and an inspiration. I guess I had more room in my broken heart and lots more love to give, thanks to Lucy Anne.

Debs! I am so happy to read about Lucy Anne!
That's horrible what happened to her - but she found her angel in you! And caring for her helped your broken heart as well - tho I know you will always miss Jasmine.
And as usually seems to be the case - when we rescue animals, they turn around and rescue us right back!

What a beautiful tortie. It's amazing how they can help us heal, isn't it? I too acquired my most recent girl right as I was losing another one (a real soulmate) that was back home. The new girl- Posh, drove home with me from college during christmas break and has been helping us all blossom ever since. She was a bit of a rescue, even at the shelter- had been shut down and living there for 6 mos when I came along.
Blessings and good luck to you both.

And Sonya is right. Jasmine and my Mollie would both say, "It's okay. I'm in a better place, and you are going to be fine." Our hearts were broken- but the next generation is here to help us live with joy and love.

She is such a cuteness! I am so sorry to hear that little thing had to go though all this! But she is so lucky to have you. She will never replace Jasmine but I am happy to see you have found each other.

So glad she found a wonderful person like you to give the care she needed, and so glad she's made it through!

So glad she is healing your heart. I know the pain of losing a dog but when you get another they seem to know of your broken heart and touch that spot and more. Many blessings Becky Jo
