aww poor baby -
I would mostly give him time - sit quietly to see if he approaches you
tempt with food bits closer and closer to you

It was a sad thing, but at least he's getting interaction now.
I've tried food, and he's only eaten a tiny bit off a spoon in my hand. He's fine when he's near me, it's just his hissing and swatting when he's in a corner that concerns me...

well cornered animals - can be frightened
I'd leave him alone in the corner til he trusts you better
I'm pretty fearless with dogs, but a scared, cornered one is one I don't mess with
Can you confine him to a small, kitten safe room for a bit - let him settle in for a few days- off course - go in and spend time with him - just sit quietly if you need to. just leave food and water and litter box - a box to hide in maybe too
I'm pretty sure Izzy will have some good advice for you

It's more like when he's not near me when this happens, he just likes den like areas, or corners. He's done it when he was on the bed and I had to get up to get something, and when I got back, he was hissing at me. Maybe he's just scared? Idk, but he's confined to the bedroom where he doesn't get bothered by anyone (except my hubby) and I. So he hasn't seen the dogs yet, and I'm afraid doing that too soon might scare him into permanent viciousness.
He slept a little in his litter box. Lol.

yeah - maybe make a hidey box for him - I think he's scared ... when I got my cat Taz - he had been a stray - he hid in the hooded litter box for a couple days -just coming out to eat

I put his bed and a fleece blanket in a bottom drawer in my dresser. Do you think I should just leave him be for a little while? I've been picking him up, and he's currently resting on my husbands tummy. (the boys really like each other. LOL!)

well if he's happy where he is - let him stay there!
