You're welcome. My Domestic Long Hair is extremely skiddish as well. I adopted her from my college where she was born at and never saw the outside world as a kitten. I tossed an empty bottle of face wash out of the shower last night and I heard her take off, and hit the bathroom door so that it practically closed and she's been in hiding all night. My Manx on the other hand, sweetest cat ever! You can do almost anything to that cat. But try to restrain her, and she just won't have it.

A Manx is my other dream cat. Definitely one of my favorites.
Do you have any suggestions of brands or types of clippers that are quieter than others?

Actually, I am at work right now! Our louder clippers are Oster brand, the quieter ones are the Andis Detachable Plus Model AG. Granted, the Andis clippers don't work as well as the Oster, but they're more quiet.
As for my Manx, I love her to pieces! I will forever own Manx cats. Granted, I love my Domestic Shorthair and my Domestic Long Hair, but my Manx has the most amazing personality out of any cat I ever met in my profession, or personally. I also own an Old English Mastiff and a Lab/Pitt mix and we will soon have my dream dog, a Chocolate Newfoundland in the near future.

Such a beautiful kitty!! She reminds me of my big boy Gemini. Solid black and beautiful! Gemini is the only cat that doesn't get mats in his fur!
The only experience I have with anything like this is a mat breaker. But, that isn't the issue. I prefer to leave these kinds of jobs to the professionals! I will let them get their arms clawed off!
I have a tortie that is a hell cat when you try to groom her in any way! I think I posted a thread of her after she got shaved, so cute.

Gemini sounds very dashing. Hallie is actually a smokey black- her stomach is grey, as is her undercoat.
I've settled for just holding her tail and furminating her breeches. A couple minutes of pissiness, quickly abated with a pile of treats, and cuddles for the rest of the night.

Also- Hallie never had awful mats, but they've disappeared now that I have her on more wet food, and salmon oil. As has her dandruff and static-yness.
