KC that is a gorgeous one! I can't find that breed readily here.
I have trouble with them at room temp since it is cool in the winter, but with a heater I could definitely keep them

This thread is getting bigger. Fish seems to be a popular hobby among the orchid growers!

Hi all, wow!! the thread has really grown, just back over the week end. These are hybrid, call Halfmoon, bred specially for their huge finnages and the caudal (tail) should looks like a capital "D".
You don't normally find them in fish shop. only from Halfmoon breeders. breeding them for competition and show display. I'm also a breeder, small timer, more a hobbyist. Breeders are quite widely spread now in US, Holland and other part of the world.
Yes, there are very beautiful and expensive too. A show quality can fetch varies form 100 - 200 USD easily. High maintenace, water change a must every other 2 to 3 days......dirty water will clamp thier finnages and causes fin rot. (eaten away).
regards
KC
