Bonjour Linh!
Very nice squirrel indeed! (as is your photostream on flickr which I admired).
Do you grow ALL those orchids and flowering plants?
I live in a tropical climate (Phuket Island/Thailand) and get to grown all my orchids outside. I've added you as a friend/contact on flickr, my name there is HARIPUNCHAI, here it is Ephemere and in reality Michael!

Cheers from The Land of Smiles!

Hello Michael
Yes, all those orchids and garden plants are mine. I'm glad you enjoyed looking at them. If you've recently joined OB, welcome!!

Did you know that there is a large population of albino squirrels in the town of Olney, Illinois.

What a cute critter. I hope he has a long and happy life. One sad thing, however, is that albino animals often do not live long due to the lack of natural camoflage coloring. Their predators can see them too easily. Do enjoy him while you can.
We have seen black squirrels in Huntsville TX and in a town in Michigan (name escapes me). They are really beautiful. We have the little grey (or cat squirrel) and the red (or fox squirrel). Funny, right here at the house there are greys but less than a mile away, on our same street, there are reds.

Several years ago a neighbour caught an albino chipmuck in a live trap and we kept it as a pet for a few months. It had brown eyes.
Black squirrels are pretty common around here in Western MA, but I've never seen an albino squirrel. I can't tell from the picture, but are the eyes pink?
I'm with the "it's cute" contingent

Yes, it is hard to see but it does have red/ pink eyes. The little guy comes and put it's hands up against the patio door every now and then to check out what I'm doing inside the house. So I was able to get a better photo later.

He's probably looking to see just when he will get his next handout.
Years ago, my FIL had one (just a regular red) that all he had to do was stick his head out the back door and call "here Petey" and the the squirrel would come running to take the food out of my FIL's hand. Of course, this was in the city where they are protected. One year the city even asked people to feed them because the acorn crop was bad. A friend had a bag of black walnuts on her porch and a hungry squirrel to match. Critters are so much fun.
