Wow! I didn't know fish could be so tame! I wish I could have a koi pond, but it gets too cold in the winter. Instead I have a nice tropical fishtank. Thanks for sharing!!

You can have fish in the Cold, just don't let the ice freeze solid, let them breathe!! Gases will kill if not.

What damage are they doing, if in the hands of private owners? Unless people have let them go into the (wild waters)- out of Private hands?

I've never heard of Koi being Illegal anywhere? I'm sorry to hear that

Yep illegal in most states. The fish have somehow escaped into our waterways. When this happens and when they breed they revert back to their original carp form. They have destroyed river beds and almost wiped out our indigenous fish. In fact if you catch a 'carp' it's illegal to throw it back in the river in some places.

I hope your rivers never suffer the same fate.

It's always the irresponsible owners who ruin it for everyone else. Mind you it's legal to own goldfish and I really can't figure out the difference.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that! I can't believe humans do this? Why? What do they get out of it? But ruin it for everyone else to raise Koi properly, and truly enjoy them!
