Ramon, I think you may have hit it right on the head! The colors look the same and the call is closer to what I've been hearing from these two.

sweetheart birdwatching is my second passion I used to work as Bird Watching field guide in Venezuela... and have also several bird watching tours in USA (from Florida to Hawaii) find attached two of my favorites from the last BW trip in USA:

1. Heermann's Gulls (with Herring Gull) and
2. Nene (Hawaiian goose)

Thats pretty cool Ramon, have you ever seen a Painted Bunting. I have seen one on 2 occassions but was unable to get any pictures. I do not consider myself a birder but I sure catch myself always looking for something new.
