Totally agree DeaC!!! For the summer time at the beginning of this year, the temperatures got up to 40+ celsius on some days - which was nasty.
Ginger cat is an outdoor cat - and the temperatures got up to dangerous levels that gave dogs and cats heat exhaustion ---- and the news reports mentioned that a couple of dogs were seriously affected.
To help ginger cat out a bit, I bought for her a portable air-con, which turned out to be a life saver for her. She really does use it on the hottest of hot days. The temperature gets so high that her tongue hangs out of her mouth. So that's when she needs to get in front of the air-con and stay there pretty much the whole day - when the hot sun is out. Everything gets better when the sun goes down.
At first she wasn't used to the noise from the air-con. But eventually discovered something about the environment right in front of that 'white thing' seems to be much more hospitable than places away from it.
But the funny thing is ------ once she was cooled down enough, she would feel good again, and think it's ok to go back out into the heat hahaha. So she would then go out. But soon after would eventually have to come back again, because even the shade in 40+ celsius isn't going to help if wearing a permanent 'comforter' (in USA language) hehehe
Comforter = thick blanket
You keep cool and stay cool over there too DeaC!
