well, there are lots of reasons to get them together but it assumes you have all the time to make it happen safely and comfortably.

bringing them together will acclimate them together and they will likely be more bonded BUT they are both going to be terrified and they display and react to that fear in different way and it will require a lot of dancing by you to make it work.

I've had cats, and dogs, before...though not in the same time. I know they tend to be "the boss", will defo look for one that is dog friendly, or at least can tolerate them.
But for now these are just plans, we don't have the space nor the time to add new family members.

My vet cautioned me that they are not good with cats (as a rule) as they think the cats are prey.

No. He told us that even though they act like couch potatoes, they require a very watchful eye. He explained the fence jumping part and that they can easily slip out a collar and take off after perceived prey before you even knew they were gone. He also said that while they might be okay with cats, the possibility of a cat running past them might well spell disaster.

We have a special relationship with our vet. He is the premier vet in our area for good reason. When we've had to say our final good byes, he's made house calls. He is never too proud to make a referral and can readily admit when he's wrong. We share other aspects of our life as well, which makes him especially dear to us.

In every area of our lives we are blessed to have good, honest, trustworthy people. A gift we do NOT take for granted.

Today is/was a public holiday in our state of Queensland. Surprisingly, the mail service was still running, which is odd - but possibly due to the virus situation, as maybe some mail is delayed, so even service is still running for the public holiday.

I ordered a single cymbidium plant last week, and was wondering why the delivery person was handing over a relatively large cardboard box.

And instead of my one cymbidium to arrive today, there happened to be an extra four others! At first, I was wondering whether my plant was too big and had to be divided up into several pots. But it turned out that the seller was extremely generous. Ultra generous! And included these other different ones. We don't even know each other! Hats off to that seller anyway.

And now I have to take care of four extra plants in my limited growing space hahaha. That's ok. This is one of those other unexpected things.

I was only going to have a max of say three cymbidiums, and now ended up with seven plants in a span of 2 weeks! That'll be it ---- the limit - for my cymbidium ventures! This should be enough to keep me going for a long time. I still totally appreciate the nice gesture from the seller.

When I put the plants on the floor (after removing the wrapping etc), and trying to think where to put them ------ the 'supervisor' soon arrived afterward to inspect the goods, before passing through hahaha.
