Baby BooBoo.
when I was working at the Fort Defiance Hospital, Arizona, I lived on the grounds. One day two Navajo girls who live across the street. brought me a scrawny kitten, saying Mama said we can not keep him. He was a dump on the side of a road, and they were so insistant, I could not refuse. He was less than a month old, matted eyes and face. I tried to clean him up and fixed him a bed in my garage, left water and food, and did not see him again for a couple of weeks. Once I saw him coming out from the vent at the back of an unused dryer.
Then about two weeks later, while checking on him, he came out, pranced up the three steps into the house and and acted like he had always lived there. Then followed me upstairs and had the run of the house. That was in 2008, he weighed less than a half a lb. Hense the name Baby BooBoo. He now weighs over 15 lbs, is healthy, has a cat door/in a window, and goes in and out at will. Still very shy except with me. And my terrier and he hate each other, so Baby has his own room, and only visits me at night in the bedroom when the dogs are locked out.
He likes to sleep in the bathroom sink in the summer, the BR that connects to the "cat room."

Like Gingy, he is very sweet. We found out after we adopted him, the people who ran the rescue were arrested for animal hoarding. Cats stacked three high in carriers in the back yard.
Dolly was found as a feral kitten in a junk yard. She's just now becoming civil. We always try to rescue.

SP, the very obvious and tender care you have for this feline shine in those photos...cats are extremely communicative and it is only a question of if you can "hear" them...lots of body signals and subtle things.
I have had probably more than 20 cats in my lifetime and now i am relegated to occasionally petting my neighbors and feeds dead rats to the strays since my daughter is allergic...
i will always tell people that i am both a cat and dog person because cats also rule!

You too DC! You definitely have had lots more pets than I did. And it's absolutely excellent to know that you really like pets (cats and dogs) a lot too. Definitely!! The pet owners often see behaviours and traits that they would never have imagined to see or encounter!
This cat here has a really interesting behaviour ----- where, if she is eating her meal and I touch the back of her head, or neck or ears (giving her the wrong signal, as in she thinks I'm trying to put the anti-tick drops just behind her head, where she can't lick off the liquid), she will then stop eating and step backwards ------ then begin a round of half-closing both eyes, then opening wide, then half-closing, then opening, then half-closing......does this for a few cycles. Then after that, if you go near her, she'll run away (still in the yard) ----- and nobody will be able to get close to her until she's finished getting mad/angry hahaha. It's a confirmed communications message haha.
I don't usually purposely do that kind of thing. I only did it a couple of times for testing ..... to see if it's repeatable. And it is repeatable. I don't give her those drops anymore. Instead, I now give her powdered tablets (which I crush up into powder and mix with her food) - which surprisingly she is unable to taste this powder ----- she can't detect it at all, so this turns out to be a great application for anti-tick and anti-flea and anti-worm treatments.

I have a black cat and she has 6 kitten and I really love them so much. I bought my cat last year and you would not believe I was writing my assignment and suddenly her kitten came to me and they RIP my papers and I was playing with them and did not get angry because they are really cute. I have to say I love my cat and her kittens. you should love them as well.
