Yep, I see what you mean now about that top line. That sure ain't no German Shepherd rear end! I agree about the possible Dane involved now. Likely where the supersizing originates. Sure doesn't have the muzzle or jowl of a Dane though.

The Great Pyre part.... still not convinced. It sure looked like it in first pic where he's kind of head back and you can see that smiley jowl thing going on. But he should still have that look with a side view. He doesn't happen to have double back dewclaws does he?

PS Nice Boss Lady there... looks ferocious. LOL

We had a dog like that named "Tickle". We called her a laboratory retriever. A real Heinz 57. Our best guess, part blonde border Collie, part whitetail deer (or maybe goat), part Greyhound (the dog, not the bus). Extremely fast, extremely clumsy.

We started with Irish Setters, moved up in smarts/down in size to Border Collies, and our last two dogs have been miniature, long-haired dachshunds. If we continue that trend, our next dog is going to have to be a hamster.

This is Hobbes, enjoying being on our dock. We rescued him at age 2, he turned 9 on Christmas day.

Oh, BTW, our current dog (Murray) is a 5-year old mixed breed, we think he's a cross that includes black & tan dachshund, Jack Russell, min pin, and caffeine. Loves us, tolerates other people, hates all dogs.

Ray, Hobbes looks pretty 'chill' for a dachshund; is he pretty relaxed with most people? We used to have a long-haired sable dachshund named T-bone, he loved everyone (excapt this one college student that was doing some sort of exercise routine (yoga?) in a local park; she was standing on her head at the time, kinda freaked him out). T-bone was also a shameless flirt.

Good on you for rescuing Hobbes!

No - anything but. He is extremely wary of strangers, and "guards" us from anyone who has the gall to walk or ride a bike past the house.

Best we can guess, he was locked in a crate in downtown Philly around the clock. The owner suspected he was lonely, so locked another one up with him - Calvin and Hobbes. When she got smart enough to give them up, she claimed they were a bonded pair. The vet said they were both covered in bites.

The poor guy had no idea what was coming when, and was desperate for a normal routine. We were doing well until we moved, and that was a setback, but CBD treats have helped a great deal.

He's super grateful - after every meal meal he comes and gives both Michele and I kisses...

Yikes.

Sorry Hobbes had such a rough life. Glad it is better now; thank you for that. I hope Calvin's life is also better now.

Hey DC!! Speaking of our animal friends, I heard yesterday via NWSMiama that folks in the area needed to watch out for falling iguanas! Did ya see any action?
