Help with a Sophronitis purpurata problem
Default Help with a Sophronitis purpurata problem

This Sophronitis purpurata has been blooming profusely for years. A few months ago, one leaf became mottled and after doing some checking, I thought it might be a Mag deficiency. After treating it as such, it has become obvious, there is something else going on. Please check out the pix and send suggestons. Thanks

Issues with orchids are almost never a matter of nutrient deficiency.

There is an article in the latest AOS Orchids magazine that showed similar mottling with p,ant infected with anthracnose.

This problem comes up every-now-and-then. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Grow as usual. Those leaves eventually drop anyways, it just won't look nice. As long as the plant's not rotting, it should still continue to grow.
