Dendrobium Nobile Hybrid with soft spot on new growth. Male
Default Dendrobium Nobile Hybrid with soft spot on new growth.

Hello All,
This is my first post to this forum.
I have a collection of about 50 orchids and I noticed one of my most valuable orchids has an issue. It is a Dendrobium Nobile Hybrid. The newest growth has fallen over and become soft and hollow feeling at the base where it connects to the rest of the plant. It appears it has also become a darker green color in this weak spot with possible blackening also in the same area. What is the cause of this issue and how do I treat it? So far I have just staked the new growth with the issue and sprayed the area with hydrogen peroxide.
