Reinfection or systemic infection gone lytic again??? Female
Exclamation Reinfection or systemic infection gone lytic again???

I have a rescue phalaenopsis I posted about here in the past. The plant had noticeable irregular brown spots and wet lesions that appeared to be edema. Since that post the plant grew a new leaf which didn't show any signs of the old damage from before, until NOW . I assume this is some sort of systemic issue, but why did it wait until now to reappear? The entire leaf had time to grow with no signs of issues until today.

I handle my orchids daily so I would have noticed something yesterday this is a brand new recurrence. I don't know what I should do other than keep it away from the others. I don't know what it could be...its growing a new leaf which also looks clean and new roots. It seems like a fairly healthy plant. Anyone have an idea of what this could be???

Last picture is of one of the old leaves as y'all can see it looks like the same pattern the new leaf is now getting. As can be seen in the 3rd pic the leaf was totally clean of any issues until today.

It looks like a systemic bacterial or fungal infection to me.

I recommend you try one of the following approaches:

1) Treat with a copper-based chemical, such as Phyton 27. It is a systemic bactericide/fungicide, but be aware that is toxic to some plants (usually not phals, in my experience).

2) Treat with a 1:50 (5 tablespoons/gallon) Inocucor Garden Solution, which is a formulation of more than a dozen beneficial bacteria and fungi that attack pathogenic ones. I did so with a phal that had acquired an erwinia infection, and it was gone in two days.
