Virus or Fungus

I have this phal that has multiple black spots on its older leaves and they are spreading quite rapidly. I don’t think it is a fungus as the spots on the leaves are dry. Can someone please tell me whether it is a fungus or virus and what I should do next? Thanks!

It's probably not the most accepted advice I give you. If it were my plant, I would throw it and buy another one. However, for the new one I give you some advice; reduce humidity and temperature, eliminate overhead watering and increase air circulation.

Well, could we see more pictures of the stem and roots? Nexogen is right about the water standing on the leaves. Cold water could do that, from experience. I think more investigation is needed.

That doesn't look like virus and it wouldn't spread so rapidly. How is the temperature, humidity and air circulation where you grow it?

The youngest leaves may be OK, but I can't see clearly.

I would cut off the affected leaves with a sharp sterile blade, flame sterilize blade and cool between cuts.

I can't see the medium clearly. Is it Sphagnum? If yes, consider switching to new bark, and new clean pot. You will have fewer problems if the medium dries a bit between waterings. Don't water, or mist, the leaves; roots only.

It’s mounted on a bark. I added some sphagnum moss on top of the roots so that it won’t dry out too quickly. I place the plant outside my window on the ledge and it’s quite dry and windy out there. Sry I’m not sure why I cant upload any pics but the two new leaves are fine (no black spots on them)

Hmm I live in a rather hot climate so I don’t think the water on the leaves would be cold enough to cause cold damage.

Ohh can high temperature cause that? That plant receives direct sunlight from 9am to around 11am daily

Phalaenopsis prefe high temperature, but likely should never get direct sun.
