Default Yellow crazy ants

Does anyone have these ants? Has anyone figured out how to get rid of them? I put out Fipronil baits today but they don't seem to be interested. I sure would like to hear if anyone has ideas. Thanks.

I don't know what those ants are. I've read some ants like sweet things, and others oily things. Get some boric acid cockroach powder. In one bottle cap mix some powder with some sugar water, and in another bottle cap mix some powder with some vegetable oil. The ants carry it back to the nest.

I've tried boric acid with jam and with cat food/syrup combo. That was suggested by the ant lab people here. These ants are hard to control so it seems. Ask Mr. Google. It is very scary. Thanks for your ideas.

I spread that yesterday, didn't seem to phase them. Rained last night so likely gone. Will check on them soon. They have taken over the vanilla orchid. Terrible little creatures. Thanks for the idea.

I just looked these up. Yikes! They are one of the top noxious imported pests. They bait with Fiprnol? I probably spelled that wrong...

One Remote Island's Battle Against Acid-Spewing Ants | Audubon.

The pesticide they used on Johnston Atoll is registered by the EPA for sale in Hawaii. They are difficult to eradicate for several reasons. They form enormous colonies with many queens, all of which must be killed. Workers like sweets, but queens like proteins. It took spraying a lot of pesticide over a large area to control them on Johnson. Have you contacted your county agriculture department?

They aren't interested in Fipronil. Some did get stuck on the back of the bait pack where I removed the paper to try sticking it to the vanilla however.

It was the ant lab connected to U of HI that identified them then told me to try cat food and dark Karo syrup with boric acid. they don't like that either. Ant lab didn't make any mention of how terrible they are, just said difficult to control. I can't believe ant lab is not aware of how bad they are. Or maybe they have just given up--like coqui frogs. And little fire ants are spreading across the island. I have some of those too! Sevin does kill them on contact but doesn't kill the queens.
