Most of the ones that I have suggest they're systemic when applied by spraying. Perhaps it's easier than saying translaminar movable. So, keeping in mind the underleaf spraying close to dawn, would this be a good idea? Thanks.

Many are absorbed by thin-leaved plants, but orchids aren't like that. Stomatae are so small that water surface tension can come into play, preventing water from entering them except when under pressure, like submerging.

Orchid growers using systemic insecticides spray the plant and drench the medium. Spraying the plant kills insects on the plant. Drenching the medium kills insects in the medium that might escape a foliar spray. It also provides pesticide to be taken up by the roots and translocated through the plant.
