I concur with the diagnosis of spider mites. Something stronger than alcohol is called for. Bayer's 3-in-1 does contain a miticide, but most of the formulation is oriented toward insects (which mites aren't) A dedicated miticide would be better... others on this forum have some favorites. However, for the short term, you can spray with a horticultural oil with dish soap added to smother the little bastards. However, you need to do this repeatedly to nail new generations because it doesn't touch the eggs and has no residual effect. Probably once a week for a month or two will be effective. (You do need to be persistent)
