PINK on phalaenopsis crown?? Female
Default PINK on phalaenopsis crown??

Hello everyone, my mom's orchid needs some help. I tried to long-distance diagnose it, but I've gotta say, I'm stumped. She was in the process of repotting it because it has been a wet summer and the medium was breaking down. During repotting, a leaf fell off, and the tissue underneath was PINK!
At first I thought it might be the dreaded fusarium, but there are no other obvious signs of rot that she can see. Any thoughts on what this could be??

Well, I'm not an expert but, I think that color is fine. I have a couple like that on the "stem," Why the leaf fell off, I couldn't hazard a guess. However, you'll get a Phal expert to respond soon and we'll both learn. If it were mine, I doubt I'd worry too much.

Don't worry; the reddish tinge means the plant is getting adequate light. Sometimes it is more pronounced on plants that flower with red or pink blooms.

My phals get pink tinges along the edges of their new leaves ever since I moved them into brighter light, it's normal. Nothing to worry about.
