Cytropodium macrobulbon with dead leaf tips

Hello,
I would like to have your opinions on what I've recently noticed in my new sprout of the macrobulbon. This plant has been a roller coaster of emotions to me, last year it had a beautiful bulb with nice foliage just until you inspected the roots (completely burned) link

Long story short, some sort of root fungus managed to get in this pot, every root that touched the medium got burned even when I tried changing the medium that touched the roots, nothing worked and I was just left with three rootless. Thought of discarding it a whole but, thank God I changed my mind and placed the naked bulbs in the shade with high humidity and in this years spring it sprouted. and last weekend I decided to transplant it again. Now Im looking at the leaf tips and are all burned and with some spots, can someone advice about what could be?...

Many of my leaf tips look like that... I suspect hard water (mine has total dissolved solids of around 300 parts per million, pH around 8... a lot of calcium bicarbonate) Plants vary widely as far as their tolerance for high solids, and the high pH that tends to come along with it. Those with softer leaves seem to have more problem. Cattleyas don't care while pleurothallids are very "not happy". So the first thing I think you should do is look at water quality - total dissolved solids and pH. If the roots are getting burned in the media, check the pH of water that runs out of the pot. If it is much above 8, or much below 6 that could be a problem.

They need a huge amount of water during the growing season. They also need lots of air at the roots. Your current potting will work well, if you water it a lot. Your previous potting may have resulted in too little air at the roots.
