Newly purchased Sogo Yukidian sick with something
Hi all. Went to the post office and came back with what looks to be a problem. This phal, a Sogo V3 was packed tightly in a liner with moss. I cut the liner away and worked for quite a while to get all the Moss Off The Roots. They were yellow and many were in the rotting stage. I repotted it and a mix of orchida, Pine bark and charcoal. I put her on a heat mat and sprayed her with physan 20. But I don't like the looks of her. It looks to me like there's several things going on. Any comments or advice is welcome.

Repotting was a good thing. The damage doesn't look severe. You might want to keep the plant separate from your other ones for awhile, to be sure that nothing is spreading,

Thank you Roberta. But it's actually not damage its disease I am pretty sure. And I should also mention that the Knicks that I repotted it into is not just orchiata and bark but it's also a little bit of spagna moss. This plant is definitely got some sort of disease. I was so quick to repot it and what I should have done was simply put it back in the box and shipped it back. EBay sellers should not sell disease plants. And buyers shouldn't buy them.

You didn't mention that it was an ebay purchase. Yes, it sounds like this plant should go back, and you should get your money returned. And if you get any flack from the vendor, that should go into their ebay review. A reputable vendor will give you a refund and/or replace the plant with a healthy one. (Contact them, they may not even want you to bother returning the plant but they certainly should compensate you.)

I was assuming that they wouldn't accept a return since I repotted it. I did tell them that I received it and got it out of the Moss and into a decent mix and that it is diseased. They did not mention offering any kind of a refund. I think if I had not reported it and just shipped it back it would be different but I think I'm stuck with it now.

Your photos are not clear enough to make out those black spots are but as I have seen those a lot, I would guess they are fungus of some sort. They are not pathogenic and you can easily wipe them off with damp (water or rubbing alcohol) paper towel.
You probably won't ever see them again because they occur only under very humid conditions.
The second photo is what seems like a potentially real issue. I see those nearly clear spots on the leaves on certain orchids.
They might just be an "accident" by whatever physiological process was involved at the time, or it might have been caused by a virus of certain kind.
can't tell too much based on those photos.
Let your plant reestablish itself, which I'm sure it will as now is the warmer time of the year and it should grow well. good luck!

Thank you for your reply. I will try doing what you said but I have appealed to the vendor for a refund. Although I am assuming since I cut it out of the liner and got all the wet Moss off the roots that were almost all rotten, that I would not be able to get a refund. It seems to me that there are at least two or three issues going on with the help of this orchid. I am really upset about this.

And I have tried wiping the black spots off and they are not coming off. They are actually in bedded in the leaf. And the other Leaf has clear almost see-through spots on it. This is not looking good.

Well, you never know.
Usually with live plants, they won't do anything for you unless you go back and complain about the condition the same day or at best the next day.
but with nearly all the roots rotted out, the vendor should replace or refund because entire root rotting out does not happen overnight unless it got hit by a sudden attack of nasty disease of some sort.
If you don't see any viable roots left, then it will either die or a long way to recovery, and with such commonly (relavitvely speaking) available mericloned plants, I wonder about all the trouble.
If you plan on keeping the phals, from next time, check the roots as soon as you get home so you don't have to waste your money again.

It's funny you said that. I received it in the mail today, and within a half an hour I had cut the liner off and repotted it after trimming the dead roots and missing it with Vice and 20. I guess I went into panic mode to try to save it, and then once it was on the counter on the heat mat I've started to rethink what all I had gone through and the outcome possibilities. So I guess it's either $40 down the drain or not. What I definitely don't want is for this phalaenopsis to get my other ones sick

Nope. No need to panic.
From next time, if you get a plant with its root system mostly gone, then don't waste your potting mix and such.
Just take a photo and talk to the seller.
Either get your money back or get a replacement if you wish.
Ok, so those black little things won't get wiped off and they are inside the tissues.
I would trim off the affected area, but honestly, with so much stuff troubling you about this plant, and since you've just got the plant, why don't you just talk to the seller and return the plant?
I always buy from the listing with detailed pictures of the plant, and make sure there are no visible signs of trouble. Sometimes it is not very obvious, but many times it is.
Best luck!
