Okay. to all that have responded I thank you so much I can't even tell you.! The seller has responded and told me that he will or she or they will refund my money. Whi ch is great. On the other hand are really really want is Sogo Yukidan V3. They're beautiful beautiful phals. So I am sad because I think I really need to just get rid of it so that it won't infect my other phalaenopsis. This really sucks

And another thing I have learned on this forum is that when you talk into the phone it definitely does not type what you talk hahaha!

If Phal Sogo Yukidan V3 is the specific orchid you want, I suggest Orchid Limited ( Phal. Sogo Yukidian presented by Orchids Limited) Maybe costs more than what you found on eBay, but you'll get an excellent plant (everything I have ever purchased from them has been great... I have no connection with them other than as a customer, but have always been delighted)

Yes Roberta! Absolutely I've looked at that many times on that website and I agree with you. And I appreciate you connecting with me so much on this issue that is so troubling. I love this forum or bored or whatever you call it! You are all awesome!

I just bit the bullet and dumped the phalaenopsis off the deck in the backyard period I just have too many other worries and really can't add on the constant anxiety about whether or not this is a virus. Apparently it was a lesson I needed to learn.

Roberta I'm going to take your advice and purchase one from Orchids Limited. I do frequently purchase from them (the LED lights I grow with ) and yes, they to sell quality plants.

Chances of this being a virus are pretty amazingly slim. Like less than the chance of getting struck by lightning. Today. While inside your house. Pics 1 and 3 show physical damage. Pic 2 shows something more questionable - it could possibly be a fungal or bacterial infection. Possibly. Not viral. If so, it most likely could have been treated with a copper-based fungicide.
Haste makes waste.

Oh No! And I destroyed it!! Things have gone so wrong so incredibly often for me in the past several months-I felt that if I kept it, I'd loose all my other orchids! I can't trust that anything will turn out ok these days. You are so right. I need to try to hold off my fear based impulsivity!!!

It happens, and especially when newer to growing orchids. You heard fearful words like "virus", and "infestation" which cause panic. The best thing to do when worried about a potential problem is to isolate the plant, treat it as needed (for insects or fungal/bacterial infections), and then keep an eye on it. And remember, there are some bacterial infections which can utterly destroy an orchid in just a few days.

I'm embarrassed to say I've been growing phals (and oncs) for close to 7 years. I've never had something like this happen. I've gone the route of killing them from too much water and other common mistakes, but never had one that was new, and possibly sick. Anyway, thank you for giving your time and attention.
