Crack on Phalaenopsis leaves
Default Crack on Phalaenopsis leaves

Hi everyone,

I have 3 phals and all of them have the same problem, as you can see in the attached photos the leaves have some small/big crack on them.
I'm monitoring them to see if they expand.
I'm not sure if it's a disease or something is wrong with watering or medium (sphagnum moss+tree bark)
As you can see one new leaf has these spots too so it's not due to injuries.
Any Ideas?

It could be mechanical damage - scraping. It could be insufficient water to the plant, which could be caused by overwatering and rotting the roots.

The pot is quite big for that plant size. It would be very easy to overwater and rot the roots.

I disagree slightly, ES. I have a similar problem. Mine was mechanical damage and underwatering. Check your roots, and the pot size. If the roots are bad there is not sufficient water uptake. Pay closer attention to your watering habits. The old leaves will grow out and fall off eventually.
