Irregular leaf growth (wrinkled)
Hello everyone,
Dont know if this is the right forum to place it, but here it goes. I've been noticing from the last years that some plants give some "wrinkled leafs" or structures while growing. At first I thought it had to be that the leafs got bumped up if they grew to tight to something else (like a rock or the edge of the pot or even in between bulbs) since I didn't really notice something from the beginning. But now with my restrepia it has happened already 3 times while growing and i has plenty of space to grow to say it bumped into something. The leafs end up straightening and growing up but sometimes they dont, such as the prostechea in the image attached. Ive also seen in arundina bambusifolias, and with one of my lycastes. Could someone advice?

Accordion leaves usually means dehydration. If it has good roots, it probably had a dry spell. It looks like it grew out of it.

I can't speak for those plants, but I've seen this happen when plants are under watered.

This is very common in Oncidiums, and other fast-growing, soft-leafed orchids, when they don't get enough water. It is called accordioning or pleating.

Thanks to everyone that took some time to answer my question, I really appreciate it. I uploaded the picture of how this bulb specific bulb outgrew at the end, it had even bloomed for me!.
Usually I thought more that dehydration will be more obvious on the bulbs, so now I started evaluating my procedures and watering frequency, and now I believe that when plants are in there growing period and watering is inconstant (but still delivered) you have more wrinkled leafs as it will be bulbs...(I also just recalled that during this bulbs growing period I was away for like 4 days...but then got again on schedule with my watering) dont know if it makes sense... anyway this particular leaf is still wrinkled, but all new growths are just fine

Once wrinkled, it will not straighten out. It's stuck looking that way until it naturally falls off the plant of old age.
