Algae in my pots

Hi there. I have several spots of what I think must be algae growing in my phal pots which raises several questions:

1. Am I overwatering, and allowing too much water to sit in the pots? (The plants seem healthy, so I don't think so.)
2. Is the algae harmful? Should I get rid of it?
3. What's the best way to get rid of it without resorting to repotting?

Algae isn't harmful. Deny it of light and they won't grow. Just cover the pot with a cache pot or decorative wrapping.
