Default Red/brown spots on Phal. Bellina

Hello,

I have recently seen that the newest leaf of my Phalaenopsis Bellina is developing some spots.

They were yellow at first and I thought it was just due to excess light; but they seem to be getting worse.

It's currently around 29°C during the day and it goes down to 17°C during the night. I'm growing this plant in S/H.

Would really appreciate help.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know what that is. Are you sure the roots are OK? Here is a good link for figuring out pest problems:

Orchid Pests, Orchid Diseases

The roots look perfectly fine. They are very healthy and going all the way down to the water reservoir.

I referred to the link, but still want a confirmation.

Thanks for your reply ^^

I would check the underside of the leaves for mite damage.

Examine closely, looking for fine silky cobwebs and silvery patches of damaged tisse. And wipe the underside with a white paper towel or paper napkin, looking for reddish streaks of crushed mites. Mites themselves are so tiny they are almost too small to be seen without magnification.

I checked the leaves using a high powered magnifying glass but couldn't spot any mites.

Did you try rubbing a moist paper towel along the leaf?
That's a far better way to check for them than the magnifying glass

Yea I did that. But the leaf was covered by a thick layer of dust. So all I got was a black imprint.

I'll try doing it again tomorrow.
