Help! New growths on Cymbidium attacked.

I was lucky enough to purchase this Cymbidium "Dural Gold" about a month ago. All had been well and I had been keeping a close eye on it, however when I was soaking it this morning I noticed that something had been attacking one of the new growths on the back of the plant!

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be and how I could treat it? I can't see any visible insects, however it's such a large orchid that they could be hiding anywhere.

I have a new pot lined up to repot it, however I want to make sure that I can treat whatever this is before then.

Please help, I absolutely adore this orchid and want to do whatever I can to help it

Sonja is right on this. The best thing to do when you spot this, is to gently separate the leaves away a little from the center to allow more air to get to the newest leaves. This does not happen just because of cold weather but a combination of that, slower growth and a new bulb with very tight outer sheaves.

If it goes all the way to the crown, the youngest leaves can be pulled out if you suspect that. In your case, the plant appears to have grown out of the problem and all you have is the discoloring on some leaves. I still would slightly separate the leaves a bit from the center of the growth to prevent a recurrence on the growth.
