pick em off and if they are big enough steam em in some garlic and butter

I pick em off and crush em. Best method I found and rather enjoy the crunch.

I use sluggo around the greenhouse but it does get fuzzzy stuff on it thats kind of distrubing if you dont know what it is.

anything with Metaldehyde will work to your satisfaction and the snails untimely demise

Mmmm, escargot! I'm in Florida, and I don't know what kind they are. They are pretty big.... now I haven't seen them actually munching the orchid, but I figure they are when I'm not looking. Should I repot or onto just use the stuff u said?

Yes, the snail bait works. Keep it where pets cannot get it. You don't need much - one pellet per square foot is plenty. You can also submerge the pots in water and wait for the snails and slugs to crawl out. There may be eggs left behind, though, so you will need to be vigilant through the winter if you bring them inside.

Ok, Estacion. I have little millipedes in my epi radicans. It's a large pot and I seldom water it. It was sitting on the deck all summer ( which is elevated) but, it was a wet summer. I did soak it ( my beauty shop appt took 3 hrs) and found dead ones in the water but not on the surface. Any other suggestions? You know how this creeps me out..

Millipedes are generally harmless, feeding on decaying organic matter in the pot. It's very hard to eradicate all the arthropods from a large pot full of soil. There's a good chance they entered through the drain hole, were living in the bottom of the pot, and you have drowned all of them.

The poisons necessary to kill all the arthropods in a pot carry a definite risk to you, your pets and family, whereas the millipedes do not. I am sure you could walk barefoot across four lanes of millipedes if necessary to save one of your children. Do you really want to bring poison into your house because tiny little things give you the creeps?

Actually, yes. But, I'll settle for drowning them if it works.

Yes, I ' m sure they came in with it. Although. I treated everything first.

Family life has been chaotic and when you don't get colored regularly, it takes longer. Cut, color, foils...it all takes time. If the barn needs painted, paint it.

A neem oil drench is highly effective and will kill all wrigglies on contact.
