Hi Chris_T, Welcome!
This happens with Phalaenopsis often with beginners. Don't feel badly. Your plant looks better than many and it will probably live. You didn't post photos of the roots, but don't unpot the plant to take root photos.
Your plant didn't get enough water. This can be either because you didn't water enough (less likely), or the roots were mostly dead and couldn't provide water to the plant (more likely.) The commonest cause of roots dying is overwatering at any time, or being cold and wet. Phalaenopsis like to be warmer than many people keep their houses in the winter.
The bark you used looks good. If the plant has good roots, it will recover, grow more roots and leaves, and resume growing. The old leaves may stay wrinkled like that or they may return to normal.
Put the plant where the humidity is as high as possible to minimize water loss through the leaves. Water it when the bark is almost completely dry. It may help to use a kelp solution. These have rooting hormones in them. They are often sold at garden centers or hydroponics stores. Water with the kelp solution once a week for now, and use regular water for other waterings. When the plant is recovered, use the kelp solution once a month.
