I'm phil from Queensland Australia
dendrobium soft cane has light green dots and dashes along leaf vains. Only affected 2 older stems.
I have removed these cane

Plant is healther and has no marks on newer canes

I have never seen this but I would keep it away from the others until you find the answer. Hope someone has seen this before and knows what it is!

Could be virus but you'd need to test to be certain. Some times these marking's turn out to be nothing or something as simple as nutrient deficiencies. On the flip side...some virus-laden plants can end up looking completely clean. Testing is the only way to know for sure.

If you opt to test...look for something that tests for ORSV and CymMV. The marks are similar to some of the markings I've seen in those two viruses.

In the US we can pick up inexpensive testing strips for DIY at home testing.

FWIW - virus typically shows up in the oldest growth before it shows in the new growths. If you opt to test...take your sample from one of the oldest leaves on the plant(s).
