Dendrobium with wrinkle leafs and sucked marks
Default Dendrobium with wrinkle leafs and sucked marks

hello!!
I have some dendrobium with wrinkle leafs!!!, not all my orchids. also some new growths have some marks that seems like something is sucking them.

I havent seen any suspicious insect, and is happening in different orchids that are not together.

I like to spray my plants with home remedies mostly because I have children around the house and dogs. Please if there is any solution would you please help me with some home remedies???
Thank you so mucho

What is your climate like? Warm or cool? Dry or humid? The white areas might be spider mites. Spray the leaves with a mix of 15 ml liquid dish soap in a liter of water. Be sure and spray all surfaces. Do this every 5 days, 3 sprayings. Your other plants probably have them, too, so spray the other plants.

I live in a tropical city. warm all year. this month the temperatures are between 30c and 38c (celsius) and humidity between 45% and 60%. I need to water my orchids almost every day.
I've had mites in the past (in some orchids right now) and for me the signs are not the same and i've used the mix with soap and worked very nice.
I saw this problem maybe the last few months when the new growths started growing. In another orchid the problem is only on the newest growth, the rest of the orchid seems healthy

This orchid also bloomed without any problem.

Thanks!!

Now that I look at the photos on my desktop, not my phone, they look like mildew and other fungus. A lot of plants growing outside in gardens and wild in tropical regions look like this. I don't know any home remedies that really work for problems like this; I would use a fungicide.

Could it be scale?

I have not encountered them on orchids but I have treated an outside citrus with the cinnamon concoction (do a search). Also, the AOS has some suggestions.

Thanks for the comments!

The white parts in the orchid are like erosion, maybe the photos are not clear enough, I dont see any insect there.

I´ve had orchids for almost ten year always in the outside but never with this look.

I read about peroxyde hydrogen to treat fungus infection, But I´m not sure how to use it.

Should I just keep an eye in those white or do something?? and the wrinkle leafs?

Thanks again!

First aid dilution (here is 3%) of H2O2 should be sprayed or dabbed on the affected area. Make sure it dries within reasonable time (just like water). Isopropyl alcohol (first aid %) works just as well as a topical wipe.

I think the plant is attacked by boisduval scale and fungus...
