Miltonia Binotii and Brassada Mivada with tiny(>1mm) black/brown/violet dent spot
Hello everybody,
I am a fresh orchid grower and I hope you can help me with this problem. I have recently obtained those two orchids Brassada Mivada and miltonia binotii. I ordered them online from a local supplier and they came packed together in the box. They had small black spots (please see the photos attached). But I was not so much concerned about it since my Oncidiums have some black tiny spots here and there but are doing fine. Now I am getting more and more concerned because it looks like (not hundred percent sure) that the number of these spots is increasing. Also I have noticed that on the back of the leaves there is higher number of the spots which probably over time penetrate on the top of the leaf. As a small prevention, I sprayed the leaves with 3% hydrogen peroxide.
I kept those two orchids in my east oriented windowsill in my living room where temperature does not drop bellow 19C. They have sunshine till early afternoon and I live in the Netherlands.
I was googling and all I could find is so ambiguous and nothing really closely depicting my situation.
Now I have noticed that my aerangis citrata has few black spots on the back side of the leaves. When I look videos and pictures of more experienced orchid growers I also see that there are often spots and irregularities on leaves. But since I am new in all this orchid thing I do not know really about what should I worry and what not.
Please look at the photos attached and help me if you can!
Thank you!
J.
