Is this hard scale on Phal roots?
I thought I would start a new thread with these photos. This is my first ever orchid repot and the leave are showing these translucent dots but I never find the scale bugs anywhere and I look at these plants daily. Many people think I have mite damage on the underside of the leaves. Well I'm repotting and I see some hard bumps on the roots. Is this normal root anatomy or is it hard scale? When I puch them off it is extremely hard to do so and nothing seems to be alive or moving. I smashed one off and it has a hard white lump under it I can't get off without probably scraping the root. It is currently soaking in water as I'm trying to drown whatever it has. I would love everyone's opinion!!

Your roots look ok to me. I don't see any scale either in my opinion. It almost looks like you had edema spots on the leaves to me. Here is a page about it:
