Yellow and lots of black spots. Sun or fungus?

Old mix, soft- and small bugs running around. Gonna sterilize new pots and flush the roots and cut bad ones.

But- same size pot, or the bigger one?

I have one thats wider, but not that tall- maybe use that.

Lol, I'm just chatting while I'm thinking what to do :p

A bit of topic as well- sorry about that.

But it does show that roots can appear healthy on the outside, but when you dig in- it shows how important it is to be sure your orchids are in a good medium- to get a healthy and happy plant :)

Edit: repotted- noticed something black on the damaged leaf and stem, cut it gently away, sterilized and repotted. And cut one of the spikes.
They tend to grow a bit sideways, so I potted it the way it felt naturally to put it.

Gonna leave it dry for a couple days, hopefully it will like the new pot.

This kinda says it all. Old mix all tangled up in the roots, moist and wet.

Normally when a root grows up in the air, I want to tell them they got the direction a bit screwed up. In this case I would say, yeah- you go, little fighter. Its safer in the air than in the pot…
Man, I've never repotted my plants before. Well, working on that project now.

But- I let it soak to try cleaning the roots- can I divide it? If one part doesnt look okay? Or must there be more buøbs before dividing?

Edit:
New potting media: bark, a tiny bit of coco bark thing, and perlite. No moss to this guy- hoping the perlite will add enough moist and oxygen, instead of using moss.

I love the narrative and photos with your posts.

Very nice!

I divided it, not sure if that was a smart thing to do or not, but its done.
Decided to go for really small pots, to make sure I can keep an eye on watering.

Gonna dry for a couple days, still sitting all alone, in case it got some fungus or something.

And the second one

Now I'm gonna let it heal. Maybe the fungus will magically go away, or maybe it was just sun burn. Time will tell😎
