GARDEN SAFE Take Root hormone for rootless phal?
Thumbs up

I'm not sure how new it is, but when I looked up Superthrive, the bottle says t he y recently added Kelp to the mix. So I'd bet it works pretty well. I did get another orchid on clearence, and it's actually really healthy, it has helped take the worry off the one I started this thread for.

I am glad you have opted not to use the powdered rooting hormone. I do use this when I make cuttings of some of my plants. While it works great for cuttings that are placed in soil, it would not have worked well with orchids as when you would have watered the roots, you would have washed it off each time and had to reapply it. That is why the liquid type would have been better to use. However, as you noted on the label, rooting hormone offers some health risks so you must be very careful while using it.
I have just purchased a bottle of seaweed stuff from Amazon for the orchids and other plants due to all that I have read about it. It is safe to use (people eat seaweed!) and yet experiments done with it seem to show really great results. The information on how it affects us health-wise seems completely positive.
