Ugh, that stinks! Glad you were able to come up with a solution I believe I have confirmed that it was a rabbit due to the "droppings" around the birdcage. I've been putting the chid's out in the am and bringing them back in in the evening but all too soon it'll be time for everyone to come in and stay in due to temps

If you have time on your hands (or if your significant other does) and want a small diy project, consider making a cage. Mine is just a big rectangle made out of pvc pipes. There are elbows you can get that allow you to make the corners easily. I put chicken wire on all sides but the bottom and shade cloth on the top. Works great for keeping the nibblers out.

That's a great idea! Maybe someday I'll have time on my hands lol With a 2 year old and 5 year old living with us (our grandchildren), I've forgotten what that even means...some days it a challenge to even find the time to water them(the orchids, not the grandkids lol). Hopefully my daughter will be able to take back custody of our 2 year old grandson soon and it would be a neat project to involve the 5 year old in. Thanks for sharing how you made yours it seems simple enough for the 2 of us to do together and a much better solution then dragging them out and back in every day

My brother in southern California built a cage from 1/4 inch hardware cloth around his raised vegetable bed to keep out squirrels and rabbits. Hardware cloth is the US name for sturdy wire mesh with wire spacing of a quarter inch or about 6 mm.
