Mold or what?
Hello, my friends
I saw some other threads about what seems to be the same disease/infestation. But I'm not sure...
What do you think this is? And how can I get rid of it?
I don't know if this developed due to humidity levels. I have this den near to a Phap and because the temps here are getting really high (37ºC / 97º F outside, 25ºC / 77º F inside and, as usual, they will go higher) and humidity very low (between 15 to 20%), I have beed spraying the plants with water 3 times/day. Maybe if I separate the Den from the Pahp, and move it to a less humid spot, this will be solved. What do you think?
Note: the Phap doesn't seem to have this disease.
Another note: the Den has 3 new canes which are showing some signs of infestation.
Some photos:

That looks like a heavy infestation of mealy bugs. Look at your last photo near the top part of the cane showing in that photo. It looks like an adult one there. If so, you need to clean these off and isolate any infected plants.

Those are stinking mealy bugs. KILL KILL fast. And get it away from your other orchids. I like to squish them. Do you have any spray?
Edit: oops silken we posted at the same time.

I have some of those pesticides bought at the supermarket. But I would like to try something cinnamon based...I heard it effective.

A Q-tip swabbed in alcohol works well on these too.

Well, the problem here is that some of the infested parts are not easily accessible. So, some areas will remain untouched. But, at least, most of it can be cleaned.

There are a lot of them and you will want to keep an eye on other plants, even if you don't see any yet. You may need an insecticide spray to get into crevices. Don't put alcohol on the roots if you go the alcohol route. Good luck. Even after they are gone, you may need to treat again in a week to get any newly hatched eggs.

I sprayed the den with an insecticide appropriate for plants and isolated it. Tomorrow I will clean it with a piece of cotton.
