This creature is like an iceberg; most of the infestation is in the pot.

Well, I was considering to repot it. It already has root all over on the outside of the pot.
Because it has 3 new canes, I could give a try to an old project: to mount it in a tree bark. I think I can use these canes to do it...doesn't need to be done with a keiki, does it?

You do what you think, the idea is that your creature has infected every green in the house and if you do not get rid of it immediately will have to do your projects with other plants.

No, no, I did have this problem a few years ago. You just need to isolate the plant and seriously I finally got them by just getting my morning coffee and, and squishing bugs. I also sometimes sprayed with neem oil and also drinched the roots with it.
Them bad name bugs can be killed. Ok I did finally get rid of a few, I got lazy. I got rid of them on my giant jade plant. I wish I had worked harder at the others. My bad.

Let's get rid of the beast (La Bestia) urgent need to attack on two fronts; with contact insecticides and systemic one.

Can I use imidaclopride for both attacks, contact and systemic?
I was tempted to to throw it away but, by some unknown reason it's still there isolated in my room.

I do that with imidacloprid sometimes for scale. It seems to work. I guess if the little buggers are sprayed with it, it gets in their system pretty fast Not sure if it is only the digestive system that does the trick, but try it and see if they die! Of course when I see scale, I do try and remove any I see immediately so I don't really know that the contact is killing them. Malathion is a good contact killer.

I've found something that might be used. It's called Confidor Classic (manufacturer Bayer), it's a solution with 200 g/l of imidacloprid.
What do you think?

I'm not familiar with he product, but Bayer makes a system product called 3 in 1 Rose .... in the U.S. that a number of people here use for their orchids. In Canada all I can get is Merit. Just follow instructions for ornamentals unless they specify orchids and don't use more than recommended.

Mealy bugs are a big problem in my mother's greenhouse, be aggressive with them now before they spread to the others! We take the plant out of the pot and spray the whole thing down with the kitchen sink spray nozzle to get the majority of them off. Get rid of the medium and disinfect the pot. Then go over it with a toothpick and get all the little buggers that hide in the crevices. They can also get under the paper on the canes, so we remove what will come off easily. Then alcohol swab the leaves with a dilute solution and allow pools of the solution to sit in the leaf crevices for a half hour or so. Thats usually enough to irritate the ones hiding in those hard to reach spots and they'll eventually crawl out for squishing. Give it another spray with water to rinse off the alcohol and any stragglers (we worry about burning the leaves but it may be okay) and repot with sterile pot and medium. You may find a few more over the next few days but at least the plant isn't being sucked dry by hordes of them while you're waiting to find the right pesticide. The whole process takes an hour or so of actual work, but better to do it now to one plant than taking a whole day to do many once it spreads, and they will spread! Good luck!
