Mold - is it a goner or what? Female
Default Mold - is it a goner or what?

So I had bought this cute Paph - "Winston" something. But it came in with snails, so not a problem, I put in those blue pellets from Deadline. But it's outside on the balcony and it's been drizzling for over a week - pretty much almost 100% humidity even when it wasn't getting direct rain. So today I went out to see if anyone needed water, and found this in the medium- all this white fluffy mold! I've never had much luck once mold appears anywhere near/on roots, but I love Paphs, even though I'm still learning with them. Anyone have any ideas? I'm open to anything.

Regards,
Kara

its the snail pellets that get fuzzy. just wash em down with some fresh water. old snail pellets is all it is....

it bothered me too 1st time I used snail bait and found the same thing. You dont need the snail bait all the time. I found snails dont do as much damage on paphs as they tend to prefer my phal leaves. Paph leaves are tougher and not as fleshy on most of them.

So you don't think I need to toss this plant or repot into new medium? Won't the mold strangle it?

I get molds in the high humidity of summer in my environment. I just increase air circulation and use Clorox bathroom tile anti mold spray.
