Need advice.
Today I almost felt of the wagon, however I did not purchase any orchids because the one that I really wanted had two spikes, one in full bloom and one in bud (and price was right), but the buds on the second spike had bumps on them, Hard little bumps and you could see some even on the stem. I don't know if is virus or what. The seller said it was because the plant got rain on, but I know what that looks like and this did not looked like drops had set on the flower buds.
What do you guys think? do you think is a sick plant and I need to just not look back or is it something that can be overlooked and see if she still has it tomorrow?
The third plant looked healthy enough, and I'm contemplating going back and getting it.
She also had a scented cymb. that the 4th pic.

The first photo isn't in focus enough to be sure. If it got rained on it should only be rain drops. But it looks like it could be aphids or scale to me. I like the peloric flower for sure!

Thanks, I know the photo is of poor quality. And it is one of the two peloric that she had. The bumps are hard and if removed it would damage the bud.
Sorry I could not get a better picture.
Liz.

Within the limits of the photo my first impression was scale, but you should be able to crush scale. So I guess the bottom line is, I'm not sure.

Did both of them have the bumps? If its only on the buds and spikes and you really want it, I would be tempted to get it because once you remove that, the plant would likely be fine and bloom properly next year. But I would want to ask the seller a little more detail as to how those bumps were formed from rain. Its a tight bud and in my mind, some rain shouldn't really hurt it. Or I would buy the other peloric if its also one you want.

It does not appear as scale, I seen that before and this looked different. Almost like snails when they lay their eggs between the cuticle and epidermis, but the lumps being harder than that.

Only one of the plants had it, and I'm hoping that she still has them when I go back, because I think you are right, I can keep an eye on it, learn from it and get rid off what ever it is by cutting it off the flowers once they are done. And I can also keep it isolated from the others if it looks like something that can spread. And maybe even get it at a discount Although the price was not bad at all.
I think the seller did not really know what happen, I could see some of the other plants having the water spots when cold water sits on them.
This is a family business, mom runs the shop, her daughter is very knowledgeable and she was not there yesterday. The father is in charge of the greenhouse and I never see him.
Let you all know what I find out on Monday, the shop by my house is closed on the weekends, that is when they open the greehouse and is too far for me to go just for only two plants, of course I would probably not come home with only two and there lies the problem So I stay way from it.

Hello everyone,
So, yesterday I was able to go and take a look at the orchids again. And I came home with the plant in question it is a noid so I will be giving it a name like margarret or lola, don't know yet.
Anyways, I was able to get it at 50% of the price, which was not bad from the start. So if I can get it healthy and to flower healthy blooms next year it would be a bargain.
The other plant was already sold, so no luck there. I also got a free plant (Den. from Yamamoto: Den. Angerl Smile 'kibi') for helping the seller with two other customers questions, who ended buying more plants because they now knew how to care for them.
What I done so far, I sprayed the whole plant with Garden Safe insecticidal soap when I got it home yesterday. And is isolated from all my plants. Next week I will be spraying it with Garden Safe Fungicide 3. And see if there is any change in the bumps or the plant.
I don't know if I should just cut the spikes or let it run is course.
So here are some more pictures of it, let me know what you think.
And thank you all for your advice.
