Example of a virus test on my Cattleya
I thought i would post an example of a virus tested orchid of mine: Cattleya warneri coerulea. The whole plant is spotless and has healthy green leafs and pbulbs. And it grows very well. That's why i found i really odd that the new shoot had a elongated purplish broad stripe on th back of the leaf.
So i tested it, and it is free of CymMV and ORSV. I think it is save to assume that it is just a unlucky coloration due to sunshine. I have more Catt species that get a purple hue when the lightlevels rise after a dark winter overhere. And we had one this year, soooooo happy that it is finally spring!!
