I don't know how the hydrogen peroxide works for you and missorchidgirl. I tried it after she did it and had success and some of the snails withdrew and floated out, but were still very much alive.

maybe you watered down the hydrogen peroxide too much. i used 3% hp (less then 2 dollars a bottle) with a ratio of about 2 parts hp to 1 part water.

after i let the plants soak i pulled them out and checked the medium. I found so many dead snails, and picked them out as i found them.

I plan on repeating this process every week for the next month.

I didn't water it down...I used straight 3%. Oh well, I'm glad it worked for you!

Bug free is very much possible, especially when your collection is rather smallish, and/or potting mix of choice is inorganic in nature. Oh, and if you grow indoor, it also helps a lot.

Now with that said, even with quite a bit of orchids around, bug free is possible.

I am mainly talking about plant-harming bugs, but getting rid of things like annoying springtails is also very much possible.

Did you try a new bottle, or one that's been used and sitting around for awhile?
I used a relatively new bottle of peroxide; I use a dropper for application.. 1-2 drops was sufficient for direct contact. The snail was on the surface. I used peroxide because I don't like to squish or "crunch" living things. Yucky
