Spiders coming in with my orchids? Are they a threat or just an annoyance? Female
Default Spiders coming in with my orchids? Are they a threat or just an annoyance?

Hey everyone!

I've been noticing that several orchids I've been bringing home lately have tiny baby spiders on them. No, not spider mites, but actual tiny black baby spiders. Are these going to pose an issue for my plants?

Nothing's going to top the time I brought home an oncidium full of earwigs, but I don't enjoy these spiders much, either!

Are spiders a pest I should worry about, or are they just icky stowaways?

Thanks!

I leave most of the spiders on my plants if at all possible. They eat all kinds of other bugs. ....Jean

Alright, good to know! I am not too scared of spiders as long as they're not on me and they don't surprise me. If they wanna just hang out "over there" that's fine by me!!

Thank you.

As my mother always says: "If you want to live and thrive, let a spider run alive."

It's true because it rhymes.

I know, which is why I always tread carefully.
"Step upon a crack and you'll break your mother's back."

We have to be careful!!

Rhyming is not to be taken lightly.
