Bush snails! Male
Default Bush snails!

Naoki, the usual recommendation is to wrap bench legs with copper strips. There is supposedly some sort of galvanic or chemical reaction with the slime the slugs and snails dislike.

I use a gel called "Tree Tanglefoot", which is intended to keep birds off of building ledges, and climbing insects from moving up trees.

About the only commercial pesticide known to work on bush snails is measurol, which has been a controlled application pesticide up until recently (apparently). I recently bought a bag of Deadline M-Ps from masterofmites.com.

However, the only bush snails I have seen came in years into my terrarium with a new Rex begonia, and I found that a spray of 1% cinnamon leaf oil in 70% isopropanol knocked them right down.

Naoki, I grow indoors during the winter and on my apartment lanai during the summer. Unfortunately my bush snails came in via several sources and they moved between pots since then.

Ray, do you get 1% cinnamon leaf oil at a hydroponic store?
