Hey everyone!

The Fred Meyer stores in town are really getting some beautiful miltoniopsis orchids in lately.

Unfortunately, half or more of them are usually ruined by the time they arrived.

There was such a beautiful yellow and pink one that I wanted, but it had the same problems as the rest! Argh!

I have attached pictures.

Additionally, some plants had slightly yellowing leaves and bulbs along with this damage. Is it damage from freezing and thawing? It's just so curious.

These were all from Matsui, and the problem was present at 3 different stores. Should I contact them and let them know their shipments are so bad?

That looks like cold damage to me. Unfortunately, that provides an ideal opportunity for pathogens to jump in.
