Thank you Leafmite,
Yeah these are indoors. With that I have a bedroom now devoted to chids. The only ones that go out side are my 1 Cym, Dendros, Catt hybrids. Cyms are out now even though maybe 60degrees outside. The bedroom with the chids in it is prolly set up enough to use that in the house it was my plan. There is fans running 12in high velocity fan blowing 6hv blowing in from another window. According to load calcs should be 8 full room air changes an hour. With that much air movement spraying with respirator should be ok

I understand your desperation but, remember, risking your long-term health over the health of your plants is just not worth it. You are too important!
Unless the room is airtight from the rest of your home, I would take these outside if you are using Captan and Malathion and then leave them there for a few days before bringing them inside. You really should not use these indoors, even with good airflow as it could leak into the other rooms of your home. At the very least, call the companies that manufacture them or a knowledgeable vendor that sells them and ask if what you are doing is safe.
Just to make you think about this, much of the stuff that was available when we first planted our trees that was sold as being 'safe' for use on fruit trees is now banned. Many that grow fruit trees worry that these, too, will also be banned due to their effect on the environment and, of course, health. The main reason that they are not banned is that there is not much left to replace them.

The one thing you don't want is good air flow when you spray.

Very true, Brooke. I was only thinking about after the spraying. It is true that we spray the trees when there is no breeze (usually early morning) to reduce the chances of the spray getting on us.

Good morning Leafmite and Brooke,
I appreciate the concern and wise statements that the both of you have stated. Safety with chemicals is of the utmost importance. I do have my wife, parrots and dogs to worry about. With that being said there are certain steps that I have and will take, when this happens(to put your mind at ease). It hasn't happened yet as I'm not so sure this problem may exist. Meaning I still haven't found out if these are beneficial or not. I defintely don't want to upset any natural balance that Mother Nature is working on. I just purchased another microscope that is more powerful, have taken more pics and video that I will try to get up for you and others to view. As I am not computer savy this might take a little bit. I am some what knowledgeable in other areas of life, computers and programs elude me.
I will say that I have read the MSDS sheets on the chemicals stated and I DO read these. NOTE-By the way some of these are not available to me in Cali. ie. Captan, Straight pyrenthines-.
In my industry safety is a must, because there is really no one else responsible for ones own personal safety than one doing the work. Because if this, and bringing it to fore front on the job has gotten me removed from a couple of them.
Little background on me, I am a EPA state certifiend in HVAC and refrigeration. I am also a state certified electrician. I have experience working in clean rooms, and confined spaces. I have worked for Lawerance Livermore National Labratory in Livermore, and in Berkley, here in California, worked at many of the refineries here in Contra Costa County, as well as many clean rooms of major electronics companies Intel, Motorola, and Seagate to mention a few.
My room is set as negative pressure room and mostly sealed from the rest of the house. There is small crack under door where it meets the floor but with The negative pressure in the room it should be okay. Windows are sealed around fans, walls are painted with Drylok. I will be replacing the fans in windows with larger ones that have a different pitch in the blades so I don't have the cavitation noise, and a fart fan for fresh outdoor air. This is all happening this weekend.
As far as when I spray I have taken these steps-
1) I have a box of full Tyvek full body suits
2) Have the appropriate respirator with cartridges
3) The exhaust part of system will be the only one running at time of spray to induce as much negative pressure in this room.
4) The will be a small plastic sheeting installed at the doorway to create vestibule so on completion of spraying I can remove before entering the rest the house.
5) lastly there will be a plastic bag to dispose of all garments and cartridges used in the spraing process. This should do it, if anything happens then I guess it was meant to be.I don't know what else I could do short of disposing of all plants and starting all over, or taking all the plants outside which I don't see how that would be beneficial because these pests would probably end up all over the house. And I can't really afford to have my parrots have mites. That is a bad situation to be under the parrots will be bald in a week.
As just an added note, Working in the construction industry has afforded me everything for free except fans. When this is done I will show pics. Now let's see if I can get The newest picks up or at least in URL There is some videos but not sure how to do that either. If there's anyone that you know that might know what these tests are please feel free to show them and help me find out the answer.
Thank You all, for all your positive words and encouragement I hope you have a good weekend.

Found the mite on and in my orchids
Hello all,
After a long weekend of research and many emails with a entomologist, I have found out what kind of mites these are( I say mites cause without sending a sample to a lab we were left with most logical solution. And by no means are they new. These show the exact signs of damage that I have been dealing with. The name of said mites are Barley elongated mites (Tyrophagus perniciosus), putrid elongated mite (T. putrescentiae) They get in greenhouses and hothouses with high humidity and temperature, leave the stage and go to eat leaves of plants. Putrid elongated mite, as is almost always found in the tissues of rotting tubers and bulbs. It not only feeds the fungus mycelium and tissue damage plants, but also actively carries on itself spores and particles of mycelium. The Nested root mite (Rhizoglyphus callae). damage tubers Gloxinia and begonias, iris rhizomes, corms of gladiolus bulbs lilies, daffodils, onions, lilies.
